ENGINE is a fully capable, carrier grade, IN platform with a difference.   It is designed to deliver service to multiple operators from a central server.  A number of technical innovations make this possible.   These include:
  • Multi-tenancy.  From the outset ENGINE was designed to support multiple operators on a single instance
  • Network Interface Functions.  NIFs are a range from simple loss less probes through to active boxes capable of redirecting and manipulating traffic
  • Seamless on line system upgrading. Ensuring that the central system can be upgraded and changed without interruption of service to any of the operator “customers”

     

Centralisation:  Lower costs, greater value, more control.

This architecture clearly delivers a significant reduction in platform costs. It also allows for the centralisation of system skills and knowledge. This means, for example, that knowledge, learned about a fraud method being deployed against an operator in one country, can be immediately used to protect operators in other countries. Or a central team could analyse the ratios of roaming footfall versus voice and data revenues to adjust pricing plans and to launch promotional campaigns (e.g. a welcome SMS message saying:  It only costs 50 cents per minute to call home… why not do it now).  Centralisation also means that you can be sure that everyone is using the same version of software. If you develop a software solution centrally, it can be easily rolled out to all of the operator members, often without even needing to even visit that operator.

A dialled number correction, or virtual home environment (VHE), network application is now available from Evolved Intelligence as a remote hosted service. Sometimes known as an intelligent call assistant. "Zero Touch" technology allows connection typically without the need for any additional SS7 equipment to be fitted to the network.
